Waxing Treatments

Waxing is perhaps the easiest and most convenient method for tackling hair over both small and large areas of the body and face; it is commonly recognised as an excellent temporary method for removing unwanted hair from the root with regrowth normally taking between 3-6 weeks. However, if the treatment is continued regularly over several years, the likelihood of real hair reduction is a possibility as this technique can result in thinning of the hair over time.

Waxing Treatments in Stevenage

There are basically two types of wax used in our treatments:

(1) Hot wax/Hard wax: this technique involves applying the wax to the skin in the direction of hair growth; once the wax becomes cool, the entrapped hair can be removed by quickly pulling the wax in the opposite direction of hair growth. This results in the removal of the wax along with the hair and any dead skin cells, leaving the skin super-smooth and silky. This type of wax is mostly used for sensitive skin in areas such as the face, underarm and bikini.

(2) Warm wax (includes crème wax and honey wax): this approach is used in a majority of waxing treatments as the wax is suitable for most areas. The application involves either spatula or roller waxing techniques, using cloth or paper strips to remove the wax.

Please note that for best results, hair needs to be at least 6mm (or ¼ inch) at the time of the waxing treatment.
